Theatre Dance Academy

Syllabus and open classes are available in jazz (ADJA), ballet (BBO), contemporary, hip hop, musical theatre, tap, lyrical dance, and cirque aerial. Classes are taught by accomplished dance teachers, who are experienced in training dancers with versatility, strength and passion, and are held in TDA’s purpose-built dance studios.

With a reputation for innovation, SMC was the first school in Australasia to offer cirque aerial classes through its TDA. New Zealand Cirque Master, Danny Lee Syme, offers classes in aerial trapeze, silks, lyra and aerial strength techniques, increasing strength and fitness, and adding a new performance dimension for our students.

TDA also offers outstanding opportunities to achieve internationally recognised qualifications in jazz and ballet syllabi. Our dance graduates have gone on to high profile dance careers including performance, choreography, direction, education and more.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in regional and national dance competitions and can be supported with private choreography and extension tuition.
