- Ashlyn Koce named a recipient of the Tania Dalton Scholarship Programme
- Te Ata Hassan selected for Canterbury U18 representative netball team
Year 13 boarders Ashlyn Koce and Te Ata Hassan are looking forward to the start of the netball season.
Ashlyn has been named a recipient of the Tania Dalton Scholarship Programme. The Tania Dalton Foundation was created in honour of the sporting legend, and the three-year scholarship programme provides financial support, mentoring, and personal development workshops. The programme provides girls with opportunities to connect with like-minded athletes and experienced mentors.
Teammate Te Ata was selected for the Canterbury U18 representative netball team, and played a significant role in their success at the U18 National Championships in 2021. A member of the SMC Senior A team, Te Ata finished the 2021 season with a 90 percent shooting success rate.
SMC’s Senior A team remained unbeaten throughout last season in all secondary schools competitions. They can’t wait to get back on the court for the start of the 2022 season.
