Meet Zoë, studying the National Certificate for Educational Achievement

Zoë is studying NCEA Level 2. She enjoys music, drama and Kapa Haka, and participates in multiple committees, including Chapel and Bi-Cultural, and is a member of the Arts Council.

Meet Zoë

I did consider the IB, particularly as the Foundation Diploma helped to inform me about how the IB works. Ultimately I chose NCEA Level 2-3 because it offered the opportunity to study Te Reo Māori. My aim is to become fluent in Te Reo.

I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer. I plan to study law at the University of Canterbury and then see where that takes me. I enjoy debating and humanities and I’m fascinated by issues of social science that revolve around law, an interest that was sparked when we studied women and LGBTQ+ rights in Iran in Year 10.

It’s intimidating preparing for national assessments but I know I have the support of my teachers and can speak to them when I need to. I feel well prepared in my studies and I’m confident in learning the material.
