The main entry years for admission are Years 7 and 9 however students may join the school at any time from Years 1 to 13. Please telephone, email or visit our Enrolments Office to request a prospectus and application form. Alternatively, you can download a prospectus here, and an application form here.
To enrol, you will simply need to complete the domestic application form and return it to the College with the following documents which must accompany your application:
- Your daughter’s birth certificate or proof of New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
- Photograph of your daughter
- Application fee
If you and your daughter are not New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, please visit our International page.
Before an offer of place is made enrolled prospective students are invited to spend a day at St Margaret’s College and attend classes with a current student who will be her buddy for the day. The school visit allows your daughter to experience the culture of the school prior to her interview with the Executive Principal, Mrs Gillian Simpson.
Once the offer of place is made, a deposit will secure your daughter’s place and St Margaret’s College will interview teachers at her current school to enable us to set up her personalised learning plan.
In early September, placement testing in maths and english takes place for Y9 as does the Middle School Curriculum Evening for Y7 to Y9.
In November we hold two Orientation Days, one for Y9 entrants and the other for Y7 and Y8 entrants, together with sleepovers for boarders.
If we are holding an enrolment application for your daughter, you will be contacted the year prior to her starting at St Margaret’s College to put the above process in place.
We welcome you and your daughter and any family members on a personal tour of the school. If you have any enquires, wish to arrange a visit or would like to apply for St Margaret’s College, please don’t hesitate to contact our Registrar, Lizzie Dyer at the Enrolments Office on 03 353 2563 or email email@example.com.
