A scholarship offers a qualifying young girl an opportunity to further develop her education, nurture her talents and reach her full potential with support from the St Margaret’s College Foundation.

Scholarships

A range of domestic and international scholarships are available for our Middle, Senior and boarding schools.

To apply for a scholarship, applicants must first complete an enrolment application. 

Middle School scholarships

Middle School scholarships 2026 are now closed.

 

Senior School scholarships

Senior School scholarship applications for 2026 are now open. These scholarships are available to all NEW students entering the College in Year 11, 12 and 13. The closing date for applications is Friday 22 August 2025 at 4:00pm.

Scholarships are offered to students who will benefit and grow in our environment, and who will in return represent the College with pride and College spirit.

  • Year 11 scholarships

    We offer a limited number of Year 11 scholarships. To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate a high level of achievement and motivation, be willing to participate in all aspects of school life and make a significant contribution to the culture and wider life of the school.

    Scholarships are awarded to students who display outstanding ability in one of the following categories. These scholarships provide up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for three years from Year 11 onwards.

    Academic scholarship

    Performing arts scholarship

    Sports scholarship

    Boarding scholarship
    Boarding scholarships are awarded to recipients who display outstanding overall excellence including strong academic ability, together with active involvement in leadership, cultural, sporting and community interests. A boarding scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of boarding fees for three years from Year 11 onwards.  

    Old Girls’ Association Scholarship
    The Old Girls’ Association Scholarship is open to direct descendants of our alumnae (daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters and nieces) and recognises a student who lives the values of our College — Integrity, Excellence, Resilience, Equality, Higher Purpose— and who will contribute meaningfully to the life of the school, just as generations of St Margaret’s women have done before her. An Old Girls’ Association Scholarship provides up to 25% remission of tuition fees from Year 11 onwards.

  • Year 12 scholarships

    Claudia Wysocki International Baccalaureate Year 12 & 13 Scholarship
    Scholarships are awarded to motivated students who display outstanding academic ability. The International Baccalaureate Claudia Wysocki Scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for two years from Year 12.

    Scholarships are awarded to recipients who display outstanding overall excellence, including strong academic ability, together with active involvement in leadership, cultural, sporting and community interests. A boarding scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of boarding fees for two years from Year 12 onwards.

Further information on applying for scholarships

  • Once you have successfully submitted an application, further communication including dates for the examination, sports workshop, performing arts auditions and interviews for shortlisted applicants, will be sent directly to each applicant.  
  • Only New Zealand citizens or permanent residents can apply and receive a Middle School scholarship. 
  • Students not already enrolled for 2026 must complete an online enrolment form, including submitting a copy of your daughter’s birth certificate or passport, a recent photograph, and a $200 enrolment fee. 
  • There is no scholarship application fee.
  • Scholarship applications will only be accepted via online submission.
  • You may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship may be awarded per student.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • Applications that do not have a supporting enrolment application will not be accepted. 
  • Sister concessions will not apply to scholarship recipients.
