St Margaret’s College’s EGGstravaganza event, celebrating ten years of our College charity, Educating Girls Globally (EGG) has raised $15,000 in ticket and merchandise sales. The proceeds will be shared amongst EGG’s four chosen charities – DignityNZ, Full Bellies, The Tanzania Project and UNICEF (Ukraine appeal).
EGGstravaganza is a unique event in which our SMC staff bravely take to the stage to sing, dance, act, and entertain, supported by the mentorship of our students, and the generosity of our wider community. The event supports EGG, established by then Head and Deputy Head Girls Gussie Cohen and Lucy Tothill in 2013 to increase the standard of, and access to, girls’ education globally.
Students in Year 11-13 are invited to join the EGG Committee, with responsibility for fundraising events and initiatives, supported by our staff. The EGG Committee also encourages students throughout our College to advocate for all girls to be given access to education.
