St Margaret’s students shine at SCGNZ Shakespeare Festival

Congratulations to our students and staff on their outstanding achievements at this weekend’s SCGNZ Shakespeare Festival, hosted in the Charles Luney Auditorium at St Margaret’s College. After a morning of exceptional performances, our productions earned recognition across multiple award categories, with one group now heading to the national stage.

Our performers were recognised for the following:

A Winter’s Tale (Year 11–13) | Directed by Anna Turner
Scene Award – Best Use of Music
Lena Abdinor – Best Supporting Actor Award
Jess Erasmus – Best Performer Award
Winner of Best 15 Minute Scene and selected for the national competition.
 
Romeo and Juliet (Year 9–10) | Directed by Megan Herd
Scene Award – Best Ensemble
Zhea De Peralta – Best Supporting Actor Award.
 
Antony and Cleopatra (Year 12–13) | Student Directed by Jess Erasmus

Scene Award – Most Elizabethan Presentation.

A particular highlight was the success of A Winter’s Tale, which has now been selected to represent the region at the National Competition, to be held at the end of May in Wellington.
