St Margaret’s College forms partnership with Assistance Dogs New Zealand

The St Margaret’s College boarding team is partnering with Assistance Dogs New Zealand, welcoming two beautiful Labrador puppies. Talia is being raised by Director of Boarding, Rachel Clemenger, while Taco is being taken care of by Senior Boarding Manager, Mary Balsom.

Taco and Talia will be part of our boarding community until they reach 18 months old, at which point they will depart for the next steps in their training to become assistance dogs.

In the meantime, Taco and Talia are quickly becoming favourites among our students. They enjoy spending time with boarders after school and, on occasion, visiting the day school to meet more of the St Margaret’s community.

The partnership with Assistance Dogs New Zealand reflects our College’s commitment to serving our community, while providing our students with a unique opportunity to be part of the puppies’ journey towards changing lives as assistance dogs.
