This weekend, the Charles Luney Auditorium will come alive with drama, wit and a touch of tragedy as St Margaret’s College hosts a regional session of the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival.
Running from 9.00am to approximately 1.30pm, the festival brings together schools from across the region for a vibrant celebration of Shakespeare in performance. Audiences can expect everything from high-energy comedies to powerful tragedies, all delivered by talented young actors.
We are especially proud to have three St Margaret’s College groups performing across the day. Our Middle School students will present Romeo and Juliet, our Senior School students will take on The Winter’s Tale, and a student-directed piece of Antony and Cleopatra will showcase the creativity and leadership of our girls.
Alongside St Margaret’s, schools including Cashmere High School, Rangi Ruru Girls’ School, Kaiapoi High School, Rolleston College, Avonside Girls’ High School and St Bede’s College will perform a range of Shakespeare’s most well-known works.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support our students and experience the energy and talent of young performers bringing Shakespeare to life on stage.
