St Margaret’s College is proud to introduce our 2026 school theme, Make Your Moments Matter, announced by Head Prefect Tilly O’Donnell on behalf of the prefect team.
Tilly shared how privileged she feels to serve as Head Prefect for 2026, alongside Deputy Head Prefect Orla Miller and a committed team of prefects. Together, they are excited to welcome new students and families into the St Margaret’s College sisterhood and to lead a year grounded in purpose, connection, and growth.
The 2026 theme recognises that every moment matters. It encourages students to embrace opportunities, lift one another up, and show gratitude for the people and experiences that shape their journey. Make Your Moments Matter is not about a final destination, but about the everyday moments that come together to form the bigger picture. It is those shared experiences, big and small, that define life at St Margaret’s.
To bring the theme to life, the school will focus on six guiding values.
Passion is about leading with heart and commitment. When students act with passion, ordinary moments become meaningful ones, filled with energy, enthusiasm, and purpose.
Authenticity is staying true to who we are and living our values every day. Authenticity is not about being perfect. It is about learning from mistakes, growing with confidence, and building genuine connections that inspire others to do the same.
Appreciation encourages gratitude in a busy world. Taking time to recognise and value moments, and the people within them, helps everyone feel seen, heard, and valued, strengthening the bonds within our community.
Growth acknowledges that journeys are rarely linear. Even challenging moments hold value, offering opportunities to learn, build resilience, and develop into stronger individuals.
Whanaungatanga reflects a deep sense of belonging and connection. It speaks to the strength of our close-knit community and the support shared across sport, the arts, cultural life, and academic pursuits. We are always stronger together.
Sisterhood lies at the heart of St Margaret’s College. It is built on love, unity, and enduring relationships, from big sister–little sister bonds to lifelong friendships that extend well beyond school years.
With the support of staff, students, and the wider community, the Year 13 cohort is excited to bring the 2026 theme to life. By embodying these six values, they aim to make every moment count, celebrate strong relationships, cheer each other on, and bring passion and energy to all they do.
