Years 1 – 8 Father Daughter Breakfast
Date: 25th October 2019
The St Margaret’s College Parents and Friends Association invites all Year 1 to 8 fathers and daughters to breakfast and to hear guest speaker Ben Davidson.
Ben has been a vet for 20 years and started life as a mixed animal vet looking after pets and farm animals. Five years ago Ben became the senior vet for Orana Wildlife Park and recently completed his masters in Conservation Medicine which is the study of health at the intersection of people, wildlife and the environment. His master’s thesis looked at the risks of disease from humans to mountain gorillas in Uganda, which took him to Africa last year and he spent some time in India and Rwanda during his study.
When not looking after the animals at Orana Wildlife Park he spends most of his time overseeing the running of the Rangiora Vet Centre, an 18-vet practice in North Canterbury. Bens daughter, Rosa, is in year 11 at St Margaret’s College.
