St Margaret’s College has won three golds and one silver at last week’s AON Maadi Cup. Including the girls’ rowing glamour event the Levin Jubilee Cup for the U18 Eight – an event that St Margaret’s College has won six previous times. This year’s winning crew of Rosa Foster, Lucy Botting, Charlotte Darry, Anna Wilson, Kate Harris, Gaby McKellar, Emma Roberts, Sophie Lightbourne, and Claudia Bethell beat Waikato Diocesan and St Peter’s Cambridge for the cup.
St Margaret’s College crews also gold won the U17 fours and U16 eights and a silver for the U18 pair.
Other awards were – SMC was ranked top South Island girls’ school in both the Sweep Oar Points Trophy and the overall Star Trophy and second nationally.
Off the back of the Maadi success, Charlotte Darry and Anna Wilson have been nominated for a New Zealand Junior Trial. And Lucy Botting and Rosa Foster for a South Island trial. Both trials will take place during April.
