Date: 30th April 2019
The Early Bird deadline (31 May) for the Malvern 48-hour FilmFest Challenge is coming up fast now that school holidays are over! If you are thinking about entering the FilmFest, it’s time to get serious about registration. Not only will your team pay a lower entry fee—$50 instead of $75—but it will help to kickstart your resolve to plan for the event.
The 48-hour filmmaking event kicks off on Friday evening, 12 July, the middle weekend of school holidays this winter. Entries must be submitted by the 7.30pm deadline on Sunday, 14 July to be eligible for prizes.
Get a creative, enthusiastic filmmaking team together and spend a winter weekend making a 2–6 minute short film.
All creative activity required to produce your film—writing, shooting, editing, audio mixing, and submitting an entry—must occur within the 48 hours of the competition, beginning Friday evening, 12 July 2019 at 7.00pm and ending Sunday, 14 July 2019 at 7.00pm.
The completed films will be screened for the teams of filmmakers and the general public at the Darfield Recreation Centre on Saturday, 20 July 2019 at 7.00pm, and prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges.
The Malvern 48-hour FilmFest Challenge is open to all filmmakers, experienced or first time. All team members, whether cast or crew, must be volunteers.
