This is our beautiful Graham Bennett sculpture, which we donated to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the PTA. Graham Bennett is a former teacher and he has created not only a beautiful piece of art in its own right, but also a piece that can be used for teaching purposes.
“Insight” is about our position in the world, as the angles of the poles are based on navigation lines. “Insight” is about nurturing. Cradled within a basket in each pole there is a small stone. These stones, collected by St Margaret’s girls during the construction of the sculpture, come from three of Canterbury’s major rivers. “Insight” is about being outward looking. Each of the poles faces a different direction.
We were also very fortunate to receive a donation that enables the sculpture to be lit at night.
